Reflections from Lourdes

It wasn't that long when we blessed and bid our farewells to Jizelle and her companions, Janet & Oscar and Glenn and Vivian, as they were headed to Lourdes to join other pilgrims at the Annual Pilgrimage organized by the Order of Malta. They brought with them the hundreds of petitions from St. Augustine parishioners, which they offered near the miraculous Grotto of our Lady of Lourdes. We are thankful for what they have accomplished. Likewise, Jizelle and her companions were grateful for the opportunity and the prayers that brought them back to us transformed and filled with God's love.

Images of the August 22, 2021 Flood

During the 10am outdoor mass last Sunday, August 22nd, water flooding occurred inside the church. It was caused by a burst pipe from the emergency fire hoses located inside the chapel. The strong gush of water flooded the church, the chapel, the youth center, the conference rooms as well as the flooring and some part of the walls by the Sacristy. 

   

Our sincerest gratitude to Captain Steve and the his crew from the SSFFD as well as the many parish volunteers who responded to the scene in no time to help clear the water and make the church and its surroundings safe. 


Below are some pictures taken during the incident. I'm grateful to Vivian for sharing them. In the meantime, our parish manager, Patricia, has diligently responded to alerting our insurance as well as the general contractor on the process of restoring the affected areas.
