Readers
A Reader is a religious (reader) who proclaims the Scripture readings used in the Liturgy of the Word from the Lectionary.
It is essential that a Reader is properly trained and be willing to develop skills in proclaiming God's word with competence and eloquence.
A Reader has to come to Mass prepared with the readings that is to be proclaimed, and must be committed to the assigned reader-schedule.
Reader training is provided by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
